As the first quarter of 2021 has wrapped up, Sensor Tower has cast its analytical eye over the performance of pirate-themed games on the iOS platform in the United Kingdom. This niche yet popular category has seen various trends which are worth noting for industry observers and gaming enthusiasts alike.

Starting with Pirate Attack: Sea Battle, the game saw an initial spike in downloads at the beginning of the quarter, with numbers reaching around 2K, before experiencing a gradual decline to just over 700 by the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar pattern, starting at around 3K and dipping to approximately 1.4K. Revenue peaked in late January at about $30 but showed inconsistency with a mix of zeroes and low peaks throughout the quarter.

The fortunes of Pirates of the Caribbean: ToW have been somewhat steadier in terms of revenue, with notable peaks reaching over $15K, particularly in mid-January and late February. Downloads for the title varied, with a high of over 1K in early January and a low of around 300 by quarter's end. Active users numbered around 1.1K to 1.5K but showed a downward trend, ending the quarter at around 787.

Pirate Kings™ showed strong revenue performance with a peak of approximately $23K in mid-January and maintained a relatively stable revenue stream above $12K. Downloads remained under 500 throughout the quarter, and weekly active users started at around 4.3K, tapering off to about 3.1K by the end of March.

Last Pirate: Island Survival had a modest revenue performance with its highest point at just over $100 in mid-January. Downloads showed slight fluctuations but remained under 400, and weekly active users saw a slight increase from 330 to around 470 in mid-January before settling down to 351 by the quarter's close.

Lastly, Idle Pirate Tycoon: Gold Sea had an interesting revenue journey, with a significant spike to $194 in early March, contrasting with a zero revenue week at the start of February. Downloads had peaks and troughs, with a high of 365 in early March and ending the quarter at 182. Active users for this title were not provided.
